Mead is probably the oldest form of fermented beverage known to man. Mentions of mead in literature date as far back as the Rig-Veda and continue unbroken through intermediate languages to the earliest writing in the English language. Throughout this literature, mead has been credited for magical powers ranging from aphrodisia to immortality, wisdom and poetry. |
